Bhama Kalapam
Here is an excerpt of Freya’s performance of Bhama Kalapam that she learnt in Kuchipudi Village from Vedantam Radheshyam.
Its only two and a half minutes of a 10 minute piece. That night Freya performed three Kuchipudi items, totalling about 40 minutes. Bhama Kalapma went down really well and I could tell the organisers and other dancers were genuinely surprised that she could actually dance Kuchipudi.
Wow! What a joy to see you dance Freya I wish I could be there. This technology is amazing I could hear the music this time. Freya how did you dance for 40 minutes? Thankyou so much. Your teachers must be so proud of you.
Love to all of you from Grandma.

Thanks Leela. I will pass on your encouragements to Freya. I’m sure she will be happy to get praise from you. We met your sister in Pune. Freya knew who she was before we introduced her. Some family resemblance!
